Hammertoes is a condition, usually stemming from muscle imbalance, in which the toe is bent in a claw-like position. Hammertoes occurs most frequently with the second toe, often when a bunion slants the big toe toward and under it, but any of the other three smaller toes can be affected.
RECOMMENDATIONS: The easiest way to avoid these painful toe problems is to make sure you wear special shoes for hammertoes. Shoes for people with Hammertoe should have a wide toe box to avoid crowding of the toes.
SHOE RECOMMENDATIONS: Depending on the severity of the hammertoes, definitely look for shoes with a wide toe box and added or extra depth. We highly recommend our line of shoes in our Stretchable Shoes section.
