Spira Women's Running Shoe, Odyssey has the following features:
- Breathable air mesh at the top vamp
- Non-stretch support mesh at the bottom vamp
- Midsole has a tri-spring application; a large single WaveSpring® in the heel and a dual WaveSpring® design in the forefoot - both are surrounded by compression molded EVA
- Semi curved training last
- Strobel lasted construction
- 5mm molded EVA footbed is removable to accommodate arch support inserts or custom orthotics
- WaveSpring® Technology:
- New cushioning design that consist of a durable, metal alloy WaveSpring®, which according to testing done in 2001 by Michigan State University, produces 87% - 96% of energy return
- WaveSpring® will not breakdown over time - even though the surrounding EVA of the shoe will breakdown, the WaveSpring® will not, which means you'll experience the same cushioning you did on day one
- Significantly lowers high impact; wearers will experience less stress on joints, ligaments, and tendons
- WaveSprings are tested for up to a million cycles, which equals to about 1,000 miles of running or walking
- High abrasion rubber outsole is durable and has a 3-pod design in the forefoot with flex grooves
